Don't be fooled into purchasing an ultra-thin flimsy gate that you will hate for the rest of your life. Our Shilo's gates are much heavier than most competitors. If a company says you can support up to a 37sf gate on their standard gate posts, they are telling you that their gates are lighter than Shilo. Shilo 4" gate posts are recommended for all residential gates over 24 sq feet, 20 sq feet for Extra Picket , and on any gate 5ft or greater in width. Simply multiply the height of your gate by the width to determine its' square footage. 6" posts are advised for all Industrial gates over 47 sq feet.
